Coach Chris is an international coach in multiple martial arts and the Founder of and Head Coach at Budo for Change.
Coach Heidi oversees the youth an d community work for Budo for Change and is the lead coach for the Youth Academy.
Coach Rickson works alongside Coach Chris and Coach Heidi sharing his knowledge and expertise with both young and old alike.
Chris Crossan is the Head Coach and founder of Legit Pro Wrestling and Budo for Change. He has extensive experience in Martial arts and many accolades across multiple disciplines. He has competed in amateur boxing, amateur and professional MMA, catch wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, freestyle wrestling, judo, sumo, and Luta Livre.
He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 3rd degree Professor with a black belt under Sensei Erik Paulson, a Combat Submission Wrestling level 3 coach under Sensei Erik Paulson, and a Sambo Wrestling Level 1 Coach under Master of Sport Georgi Georgiev.
Coach Chris is also a Kickboxing black belt, Thai Boxing instructor, a CA Self Protection Instructor under Geoff Thompson and a JKD/Jun Fan Grappling Association Instructor Submission Catch Wrestling Black Belt under Luis Ciraz, Snake Pit USA Catch Wrestling Lead Coach, European Head Coach under Coach Joel Bane.
Coach Heidi is the lead coach of the LPW Youth Academy. She holds a first-class honours degree in childhood and youth studies and has led our team members to multiple national and international accolades. Heidi has a background in track and field, where she grew up competing and winning numerous awards alongside her brother.
Her brother went on to become a World and European champion, as well as an Olympic silver medalist. Heidi learned a lot from being around top-notch coaches from an early age. She even competed in a professional athletics meet at the age of only 14. After facing a severe injury, Heidi underwent rehabilitation and took up martial arts as part of the process. She quickly fell in love with it and has since achieved a black belt in kickboxing, along with over 15 years of experience in grappling arts.
Coach Rickson began his grappling training at the age of five with wrestling and judo. By the age of six, he had already started competing and won several gold medals. Throughout his training journey, Rickson travelled to the USA and Europe to learn from and train with renowned coaches and athletes.
His notable achievements include winning a bronze medal at the 2021 British Sambo Wrestling Junior Open Championships, as well as being selected to represent the British Junior Squad. He also won a silver medal at both the 2022 British No Gi Jiu Jitsu Championships and the World No Gi Jiu Jitsu Championships.
In addition, Rickson won a gold medal at the British Sambo Wrestling Junior Open Championships, defeating both the British and Dutch number one competitors along the way. He also emerged victorious in the 2023 Catch Wrestling British Junior Championships.
